意外的新發現讓他們都興奮
外交部上午指出，車納德（H. E. The MostReverend Archbishp Joseph Chennoth）今日將抵台，520當天將由教廷駐華大使館代辦高德隆蒙席陪同出席新任總統暨副總統宣誓、覲賀典禮暨慶祝大會，晉見申賀，並出席國宴。
車納德另將參訪天主教輔仁大學、赴天主教台北聖家堂參加彌撒等。據了解，車納德曾在民國84年至88年擔任教廷駐華大使館代辦，與各界熟稔友好，也了解天主教會在台灣的耕耘與貢獻。
外交部說明，中華民國與教廷邦誼源遠流長，今年將邁入第74年，與教廷各委員會及天主教慈善機構合作交流密切，例如民國100年底雙方簽署「高等教育學位採認協定」、103年9月教宗專屬的教廷西斯汀教堂合唱團來台演出、今年2月至5月國立故宮博物院與教廷禮儀聖器室合辦「天國的寶藏－教廷文物特展」等，均彰顯與教廷關係深厚篤實。1050518
